Byron "Mauvelos" Garvey's first single, Linstead Anthem, paints a vivid portrait of how de "badman dem" mentality thinks and how ghetto life is dreadful. He recently followed it up with his second single, Take a Walk, and is planning a tour in the summer of 2008.
Inspired by Papa San, Stitchie and Shaba, Mauvelos is caving a niche for himself with his full-bodied baritone voice and hearty delivery. His vocals blend well with his far-reaching style as he attempts to bring dancehall music to a wider global audience.
Inspired by his mother's church choir singing, the St. Catherine artist began deejaying while still attending school and church in Linstead. As a young artist Mauvelos says its hard to get investors on unknown talent no matter how good you are, but negative experiences have made him strong and give him the willpower to go continue because he believes in himself.
