Junior Marvin, (aka Junior Marvin-Hanson) formerly of the Wailers , has signed with DJ Boy Records and will release Wailin For Love , his 1st album in 30 years, on December 18th, 2007. This 21st-century debut album will include 18 tracks, including a remix of Supernatural .
Junior Marvin's early career led to his reputation as an expressive blues and rock guitarist, including performances with T-Bone Walker, Ike & Tina Turner, Herbie Goins & The Nighttimers, Blue Ace Unit and White Rabbit. However, he gradually returned to his Jamaican roots, and in 1977 he joined Bob Marley and The Wailers. He first appeared on Exodus and continued to release albums with the band.
Marvin's sound includes roots reggae as well as blues and rock influences from Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, and others. The first song on the album was written 5 minutes after Bob Marley died.
You can find out more about Junior Marvin and order his upcoming CD on his website .
Junior Marvin will head out in January with The Legendary Fully Fullwood for the Tosh Meets Marley Tour, which will include performances in Hungary, the Netherlands, and Ireland scheduled throughout the month. Tour dates are listed here .
